Of everything in this comparison, Lenguia is the product whose instincts most closely match ours. It begins where we begin: with a free vocabulary-size test that produces a CEFR level rather than asking you to pick one. It then does what we do next, writing material at that level, and it takes visual memory seriously enough to use images on its flashcards.
So this is not a comparison of a good idea against a bad one. It is a comparison of the same idea at two different depths. Lenguia measures you once and writes stories for the level it found. linguafolks treats that measurement as something that has to keep up with you, and treats the material as something that should come from the open web rather than from a house library.

- Stories, not the open web
- Lenguia writes to your level from its own material. linguafolks does that too, and additionally takes any URL you paste and rewrites what is actually on that page, so today's news, a recipe or a blog post you were sent all become readable material.
- No parallel display
- linguafolks keeps the original beside the rewrite. Being able to see precisely what was simplified is both a comprehension check and a way of noticing the structures you are not yet producing yourself.
